Women’s Strike Class Options

We’ll need to alter our schedule a bit this week to allow people to take part in the International Women’s Day strike on Wednesday, March 8. Because any single class meeting would exclude about half the class, we’ll be holding two shorter sessions this week. Take your pick!

Regardless of your choice, please make sure to post your ~600-word precedent project analysis by 3/8!  If this presents a challenge, let me know.

Okay, here are your scheduling options:

  1. For those of you who are available on Wednesday, 3/8, we can meet in our regular classroom at our regular time. We’ll talk a bit about gender+tech, discuss your precedent project analyses, eat cookies, and probably wrap up early. Feel free to bring food + drink to share.
  2. For those of you unavailable on Wednesday, 3/8, we’ll meet on Saturday, 3/11, from 4 to 6pm, at 79 5th Ave, #1618 (opposite the elevators on the 16th floor). We’ll talk a bit about gender+tech, discuss your precedent project analyses, and eat cookies. Feel free to bring food + drink to share.

I chose these two options because they included as many of you as possible. Unfortunately, even with these concessions, we still can’t accommodate everyone; if neither of these options works for you, I’m happy to meet with you privately, if you like. You won’t be held accountable for your absence.

One final issue: if you haven’t done so already, please fill out your credit card form and submit it to my private Dropbox folder. This paperwork will allow The New School to get credit cards for each of you, which you can use to fund the production of your final projects. Be sure to fill in all the green check-marked lines on pages 1 and 2. Delays in individual students’ submissions mean delays in the distribution of everyone’s cards! Don’t be the straggler 🙂
