Present Your Work @ This Summer’s Civic Art Lab

Laura Scherling, an artist, Columbia PhD candidate, and New School media studies alum (as well as Shannon’s former thesis advisee) has invited you to share your work at this summer’s Civic Art Lab:

For a third year, GreenspaceNYC will host Civic Art Lab. This year’s lab will feature sustainability, art and design-themed workshops and talks, and a pop-up group art exhibition. All programming is free, open to the public, and generously sponsored by Material for the Arts and the NYC Office of Cultural Affairs.

We will return to to Alphabet City at a gallery space at Avenue C and 7th Street. Civic Art Lab will be hosted on July 7th, 8th, and 9th, 2017.

The deadline for Civic Art Lab applications is quickly approaching. We have some wonderful new artists, designers, and sustainability professionals joining us this year. Spots are limited and we hope you will consider applying to give a workshop, talk, exhibit artwork, or volunteer with us.

Laura noted that the event is a great opportunity for graduate students to display their work and to “practice giving talks/workshops.”

If you’re interested in taking part, please fill this in by May 15th.
